Company history

The foundation stone of Lechner GesmbH was laid in 1996 in a garage in Bad Vöslau.

Today – almost 30 years later – the company is an established family business with around 70 dedicated employees at three locations.

 

As a reliable partner for plastic injection molding in Austria, we consistently focus on sustainable growth, efficient process optimization and respectful treatment of our employees.

Below we would like to give you an overview of our company history, summarizing the most important milestones, investments and developments from its founding to the present day:

1996

Founding

Lechner was founded in 1996 by Christian and Marela Lechner as a small family business . The company's history began in a garage equipped with just one injection molding machine. Due to continuously increasing order volumes, the company developed rapidly and was soon able to move into its first own production facilities.

2001

Our location in Bad Vöslau

With continuous growth, the company moved to its current location in Bad Vöslau in 2001 and simultaneously changed its name to Lechner GesmbH. This location remains our central headquarters to this day, from which we serve our customers, utilize state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies, and continuously develop our activities.

2005

2008

Investments in manufacturing and infrastructure

In 2005, the first expansion of production and storage facilities took place, adding a total of 500 m², in order to meet the growing demands of our customers and to provide additional manufacturing capacity.

In the following years, the injection molding machinery was continuously expanded and doubled by 2008.

2007

ISO 9001 Certification

Lechner GesmbH received ISO 9001 certification in 2007. This internationally recognized standard defines requirements for systematic quality management and ensures continuous improvement processes. Through standardized procedures and defined testing and control mechanisms, we guarantee our customers consistent product quality, process stability, and high delivery reliability.

2011

Expansion of the company premises

As part of our long-term growth strategy, we have expanded our company premises by 7,200 m² . The expansion is planned in three phases, to be completed within ten years. This measure will create additional space for modern production and storage areas, secure future capacity expansion, and support the continuous development of our company.

2013

First construction phase: Production

In 2013, the first phase of construction was approved to expand production by a total of 2,000 m². After a construction period of eight months, the extension was officially opened in August 2014. At the same time, the machinery was upgraded to a clamping force of up to 800 tons . The new facilities created ideal conditions for expanding production capacity.

2018

Second construction phase: Warehouse expansion

In 2018, the second phase of construction was approved, expanding production and storage by 650 m². After a construction period of six months, the new building was occupied in autumn 2018. The additional space enabled more efficient warehousing and improved the company's logistics processes.

2020

Third construction phase: Warehouse expansion

In 2020, the starting signal was given for the third construction phase, covering an area of 2,200 m². With the commissioning of the warehouse in 2021, we have been able to offer our customers even more flexible and faster delivery of prefabricated parts. With the completion of this construction phase, the expansion of our company premises at the current location has been successfully finalized.

2021

Um den steigenden Qualitätsanforderungen unserer Kunden gerecht zu werden, wurde die Abteilung Qualitätssicherung der Lechner GesmbH im Jahr 2021 modernisiert. Mit der Inbetriebnahme eines hochmodernen Industrie-Computertomographen (CT) setzen wir neue Maßstäbe in der präzisen Vermessung und Prüfung technischer Kunststoffteile. Auf diese Weise gewährleisten wir höchste Messgenauigkeit und erfüllen auch komplexeste Qualitätsanforderungen zuverlässig und effizient.

2022

ISCC+ Certification

In February 2022, Lechner GesmbH was successfully certified according to the ISCC+ standard—a further important step toward sustainable and transparent value chains.

Additionally, in April 2022, photovoltaic systems with a total output of 0.65 MWp were installed on all hall roofs, making a significant contribution to environmentally friendly energy supply and the reduction of our CO₂ footprint.

2023-
2024 

Investments in renewable energies

In 2023, an investment was made in a new company site at CCK Kottingbrunn, covering 10,000 m², to meet the growing space requirements and to create optimal conditions for future expansions. Later that same year, a photovoltaic system with a capacity of 1 MWp was commissioned on this site.

 

In January 2024, a 20,000 m² grassland area was acquired, on which another photovoltaic system with a capacity of 2 MWp will be installed to further expand sustainable energy supply.

2024

Acquisition of W. Lubas Spezialtechnik

In 2024, a new injection molding machine with a clamping force of 2,200 t was commissioned to successfully implement innovative projects in the rapidly growing automotive sector.

In the summer of 2024, Lechner GesmbH took over the company premises of W. Lubas Spezialtechnik in St. Andrä-Wördern. The new facility provides space for 17 injection molding machines as well as approximately 15 employees.

2025

Expansion of Production at CCK Park

In 2025, the company site at CCK Park Kottingbrunn was expanded by 9,000 m². Later that same year, the first construction phase began, featuring a 2,200 m² production area intended for the manufacturing of large components. At the same time, an injection molding machine with a clamping force of 2,200 t was installed to increase production capacity and efficiently execute complex projects.

2025

ISO 14001:2015 Certification

Since April 2025, Lechner GesmbH has been certified according to ISO 14001:2015. With this internationally recognized environmental management standard, we emphasize our commitment to sustainable business practices, responsible resource management, and compliance with all environmental regulations.
